Occasionally I face severe pain in my neck and shoulder which lasts for a about a week while doing some workout. No swelling is visible tough. I believe there might be some nervous issue.

Dear lybrate-user, take xray for neck. Might be possibility of cerivical spondylitis. By xray it can be confirmed. Take ultrasonic therapy or apply heat fermentation for about 15 minutes, after this do nect excercises and shoulder rotation excercise at least one time in a day for a week.
