I have been operated for acute appendicitis in mid October 2016 and while operating they identified small infections on the bowel, after operation they suggested to undergo colonoscopy after one month of operation. After a week of operation I still fell the minute pain on the same area sometimes. I have 2 questions which I think it is makIng me feel worried, 1. Why I am getting similar type of minute pain even after operation 2. Why colonoscopy is required and will I have any risk after the procedure.

bowel infection is different from appendicitis. they are not related and as the infection is identified during surgery you need to get it followed up and get the infection cleared. because of the infection you are getting pain. Colonoscopy is a harmless investigation which is required to assess the nature of the insides of the intestines. so get it done then you will know what is the problem and can plan for appropriate remedy. good luck
