At my home they take antibiotics azithromycin without doctors prescription when having cold but I'm against it please tell when to take antibiotics is it good to take antibiotics as per our own decisions.

Nobody should take antibiotics without proper requirement. regarding the requirement only a professional can assess. if one take the antibiotic without requirement, they are harming their body and their immunity. Immediately they will not face any consequence, so they will be thinking its harmless. but it will be apparent when one reaches certain age and when the resistance is down then they will realize and regret it, at that point of time you can reverse the damage already done. next regarding for cold. one should never take antibiotic for cold. only when its not a simple cold and is being complicated by some other organisms then the requirement for antibiotic comes and it need to be assessed by the professional.
