Loosing someone who r closer obviously will make you depressed. That Grief wil b there for some time&that too depends on persons reactivity, sensitivity,the depth of relation. Try to get engaged in sports, or any hobby related activities, Join in some council or club related to that activities (Do not join in Alcohol related clubs, If you believe in God, Try to visit that related places, Listen phil9sophicsl, Spiritual satsabgs, Listen music you like, If you r outgoing person, Spend free time with friends. Do regularly practice Yoga/Pranayama, Meditatoon (tthrough Art of Living or Isha foundation etc, which will give you better tesults in positive manner. Take care.

Dear Lybrate user. I can understand. Loosing someone dear and near causes grief. Grief leads to disappointment. Grief related disappointment manifests symptoms as in the case of depression. But disappointment symptoms are far shorter in duration than depression. These symptoms will vanish in some days or weeks. Don; t worry. Physical exercise, outdoor games, entertainment, hobbies etc could help you divert your attention. I suggest cognitive therapy. Take care.
