Hi, My daughter is 2 years and 10 months old now. She doesn't like to eat any food even sweets or ice cream. She eats only baby food. That also takes 1 hour to finish each time. When she sees any food she starts to cry and then run away. She doesn't want to chew any food we eat. If I force, she will swallow and then vomit. I allowed her hungry for a day. But no use. I tried many tips like decorative food and all. But it didn't help. How can I get her to chew food?

Never try to force meals to a child. Ask them to eat with you but avoid feeding by you. They must be trained to eat themselves. If they are reluctant tell them to eat later on.Have patience & let child experience hunger which will teach importance of food in life. Ensure food is within their reach so they can have whenever needed.

Avoid force feeding, and do not go after the child if she is not willing to have food. If she is playing well, let her demand the food herself irrespective of time frame. Only then she can enjoy her food.

Some children are fussy about eating. You have to check her thyroid by doing TSH and inform me. You patiently keep trying and she will eat in due course. You make eating a pleasurable trick or game for her. YOU tell her weight and as she grows up she will eat as seen in many children.
