I am 23 and I sweat a lot and specially my palms and foot? I get very irritated because of that which leads to high level anxiety. What might be the reason and the reason.

Well, you need to consult your local doctor once to rule out any physical reason, and thereafter you need anxiety treatment through psychotherapy.

Hi lybrate-user, This is a rather common problem. In some people, this is perfectly normal. In others, it is the result of a medical/ anxiety disorder. In order to find out the cause, please get a complete hemogram, thyroid profile and vitamin D levels done. If there is an abnormality here, it will need correction. Even if they are normal, the possibility of an anxiety disorder causing this problem is very much there. A proper psychiatric evaluation along with the reports of these tests may be needed to clarify this. Medicines such as propranolol can often be used to correct this abnormality, after an exact cause is identified. The medicines are not addictive and not sleep medicines. They are quite safe. Excessive sweating could be due to
1.Anxiety/nervousness
2.diabetes,Obesity, Thyroid Problem, Gout
3.Alcoholismor due to effect of some anti hypertensive and psychiatric drug
4.investigate yourself to rule out these disease
5.Avoid anxiety, nervousness, tea/coffee, alcohol,smokingspicy food, chocolate etc
6.Trysome antiperspirant lotion or roll on
7.Consult skin specialist for further advice and treatment.
