Hello Doctor. Im 28 years old female n im 31 weeks pregnant by now. I had white discharge right from the beginning of my pregnancy. But from yesterday I noticed some mild brown color mixed with the discharge (looks turbid) but its very little. I have also got y cervix stitched since I had such brownish discharge in 1st trimester n 1st delivery is a preterm. I also spoke with my doctor n advised no need to worry till it is increased or bleeds. But still I would like to get an advice from a senior gynecologist if this normal will it get subside in one or 2 days as before?

Dear lybrate-user, Minimal brown discharge can happen in your case specially because you have had a cervical stitch. However please be on the look out for pain abdomen, leak of amniotic fluid (passage of clear fluid which is thin in consistency unlike the thick sticky discharge which is normal in pregnancy), increase in the amount of brown discharge or onset of red, bloody discharge. These could be your warning symptoms of onset of labor. Avoid straining, intercourse and lifting heavy weights. You need to push another 3 weeks minimum to ensure that the baby will do well post delivery. Take care and good luck for your delivery:):)

hello, As you have got a stitch applied to the cervix, it would be best to examine for the cause for this brownish discharge in order to rule any infection or any active bleeding. Get yourself checked from the doctor who did the stitches and follow the treatment accordingly.
