Hi doc my wife is pregnant her gynecologist has only prescribed a vdrl hemoglobin, tsh test. Do we need any other tests to rule out if any other sexual diseases?

Usually HIV tests are also advised as a standard protocol to all pregnant women. Other tests include HbSAg, LFT, KFT, serum electrolytes, complete hemogram. All these tests are done to know of any abnormality and if found measures are taken immediately to correct them.

Full blood count, blood group and Rh, TSH, Vit D3, haemoglobin electrophoresis, HIV, VDRL, hepatitis B, she should be taking fol123 one daily. Blood sugar fasting and 2 hours after meal. Good luck to her pregnancy.
