You have just mentioned that your Mother's Blood sugar level is 120mgs/dl. You didn't specifically tell whether it's a Fasting Glucose/2 hour Postprandial/Random Glucose value. If it's going to be Fasting Glucose (Not on any Anti Diabetic medications, it is a value to make the patient aware that they are "Pre-Diabetic" a terminology coined as Impaired Fasting Glucose where Lifestyle modifications like Diet & Exercise would delay/halt developing Diabetes. On the contrary, if it's going to be Post prandial/Random Glucose, then it's NORMAL!

Following are the levels considered for diagnosing diabetes: 1) Normal: FBS:70 to 110 mg, PP <140 mg & HbAA1c% <5.9 2) Pre-diabetes: FBS 108 to 125 mg, PP 141 to 199 mg & HbA1c% 5.9 to 6.4 3) Diabetes: FBS:126 mg and above, PP 200 mg and above, HbA1c% 6.5 and above, Thanks.
