Go get some career counseling along with an aptitude test. This will determine which areas you have a natural flair and this can help find the most suitable profession for you. Nothing is too late, whereas continuing in a stream that is most unsuitable for you will lead to depression. Even if you are far gone into a particular course of studies or job, you can still make a switch. You are very young any way.

Why it so? You seem to suffer from depression. Depression are 3 types ; 1. Reactive depression: occurring in response to some loss, failures or poor marks or poor performance in any field like not having any GF or BF while others colleagues have. Hope- Hope not fulfilled---Hopelessness or despair---------------------Not overcome or coped----------------Depression It may be corrected by convincing and counseling, boosting confidence, improving abilities and skills. 2. Neurotic depression: It occurs more in adults due to job related and family problems while the person is in stress and problems, hopes are gone and coping mechanisms and stress management have failed making a state of helplessness. The person is depressed with disturbed routines and poor performance at work-place further exaggerating problems and depression. But he is aware of his illness and the state of all affairs of family and work place, hence, so much worried and anxious as well. Sometimes it may also occur in teenagers. Though it can be treated by psychotherapy and counseling but most often the person requires drug treatment with SSRI's plus Benzodiazepines for short time, say 2-3 months. 3. Psychotic depression: There is a genetic predisposition and a chemical imbalance of neurotransmitters dopamine, nor-epinephrine and serotonin in brain neuro-circuits between brainstem, cortex and limbic system. Patient is depressed with sad mood, thoughts of worthlessness, disturbed and over-looked routines, disturbed sleep, eating and performance. Patient is unaware to his illness and so not much worried but his family members are much worried about him. Treatment with antidepressant drugs with or without anti-psychotics is must. No cunseling or psychotherapy without drugs, works.
