Hi , Anxiety and stress usually causes weight gain, because chronic anxiety and stress increases the blood cortisol level which is a steroid hormone and we all know that steroid causes weight gain. But if a person looses wt due to anxiety and stress it probably means that the person has developed associated depression also. Which may cause lack of appetite, or he/she may developed some other comorbid medical disorder like Diabetes, Hyperthyroid/neoplasm/HIV. So my advice is to consult immediately with a local General physician 1st. Yes of course if a person looses wt there will also be a reduction of total body fat.

You could be deficient in some nutrients and have reduced immunity. Such weight loss is not healthy hence you always gain back all the lost weight and much more.
