Use kidodent toothpaste for kids, the most popular and reliable brand. Take only a peanut sized about of the paste (equal to a drop) and ask the kid brush only under adult monitoring. Swallowing of minor amounts is normal and harmless. Do not worry.

Dear lybrate user, you need carefully monitor your child's tooth brushing till he is old enough to tie his own shoelaces i'e' till 8 years of age. Please make sure that whatever toothpaste you use, he should not swallow it in any case. The brand doesn't matter. The amount of toothpaste should be the size of pea (Mattar).

You can use any commercially available paste for kids (colgate also makes one, so does Dr. reddy's cheerios) but brand does not matter. Teach your child to rinse and spit. And use a very small amount. Just about a dot size is enough.
