I am constantly worried about little things. I have social anxiety and I can not even talk to my friends and family comfortably. Whenever I need to talk to my teachers or strangers my heart starts thumping. This is affecting my personal life and career goals very badly. I am shocked at how bad I am with social interactions and personal life management. I also feel like my cognitive ability has declined as I used to be very sharp but now I struggle understanding even simple concepts. Sometimes I have vague thoughts of suicide but I know I will never get this far. I really need to know what is going on with me and what can I do about it. I am completely unable to make good relations even if I try hard. I really need help.

Dear Lybrateuser, -You have social anxiety disorder especially when meeting & facing people -you should try to overcome your anxiety by diverting your mind in various activities like reading, listening to music, following a hobby instead of thinking all the time about your problems -do deep breathing & yoga in the morning for 10-15 min daily & other aerobic exercises like walking, jogging, these will bring down your stress level & relax your mind & body, interact more with your parents, friends, speak out & do deep breathing if anxiety grips you -eat a well balanced diet with more of fruits & vegetables, do not skip meals, have meals on time -have 7-8 glasses of water for good hydration which helps in concentration & keeps you energized -sleep well for 7-8 hrs at night, keep your sleep & wake up time fixed -if not much relief then consult a councellor, will help you.
