Can Cirrhosis of the liver be cured? Pls help out and enlighten about the disease. It has been diagnosed 2 years ago and right now the condition is that the day before he went through intestinal bleeding which came out in the form of blood vomit, then got admitted. Other pathological reports are normal but in endoscopy there was a leakage from intestine which doctors patch up. The patient is of 70 years of age. Pls enlighten in the present scenario as genuine help required. Thank you.

There are plenty of reasons for cirrhosis ;1 viral cause (chronic hepatitis B /C, 2.chronic alcoholism, 3.NASH-non alcoholic steato hepatitis ;4.autoimmune hepatitis. Treating the cause is very important, moreover the bleeding which he was suffering might be fundal/esophageal varices-which was ligated probably through endoscopy. This happens due to the increase in the venous pressure. Considering the age of the patient palliative mode of treatment is best. I ensure that alternative medicines do play a vital role in the same.
