Hi Doctor I am suffering from OCD more specifically Ocd related to God and religion. I experience obsessive thoughts regarding god and have compulsive actions as well. I have other types of ocd's as well where obsessive thoughts are regarding death and afterlife. I had the same issue about 10 years ago and had somehow controlled it but in the past two months the same has come back to me and if I remember correctly it started when I decided to quit smoking. This is making life very unpleasant and I have not been able to quit smoking as well as it has become part of the compulsions. Is there treatment for the same, I am from Bangalore.

First of all you need a strong will power to quit smoking. Do meditation for strength of mind. Take homeopathic caladium 30, 4 dose daily and determine firmly in the morning that I will not smoke today. This will help you to quit smoking. For OCD you need to consult privately, since then take homeopathic medicine anacardium 200, one dose daily for a week. Good luck.

There is treatment for OCD, which includes medication and behavioral therapy. The best results are seen in patients who use a combination of both. Given that you had a similar episode before, and are again suffering from this problem, it needs to be addressed urgently. Smoking cessation also needs to be addressed, albeit secondarily. You may consult me for further management if required.
