I have been a regular yoga practitioner. For various reasons, the last year has been erratic, and thyroid has ruined havoc, I have become obese (I am 42 and weigh 90 kgs- my ideal weight is 57 kgs - I am 5'4'), and a sudden crick n my right knee shows the xray as osteoarthritis. I am extremely depressed as both the allopathic and the ayurvedic doctor have barred me from doing vajrasan/any asana that require folded legs. And while I am aware that degenerative process starts in all humans, I am shattered that with a disciplined life, I have invited this. Please advise on the right diet and lifestyle for me. The faster ways of losing weight I cannot follow now thanks to the knee. Your guidance is earnestly sought.

It's better to avoid fat content in your diet and also avoid pickles, papads and always eat freshly prepared home made foods and if you are asymptomatic than you can walk straight but it's better not to climb stairs and always to use western style commode for passing stools
