Hi Dr, Please my younger sister is complaining about her BP being always on high side, she is aged 27 with 3 children, she weighed 90 kg and currently she is a house wife. Please doctors what could be the reason of the frequent rise of her BP and solution to it? Because I am afraid to allow her to take any drug yet as it was insinuated that once you started taking drug for it, it might be a permanent assignment. What shall I do please?

She is overwight being 90 kg, if she decreases her weight by doing regular exercise then her bp will also come down for sure. Get a lipid profile done and a random blood sugar level. If her bp is less than 130/90 routinely then she won't require any medicines, if more than that, then maybe according to her health status and blood reports. She should also stop taking less fat and a salt restricted diet is advised for BP control. She can use pufa like olive oil or sunflower oil in small amounts.
