I am having hiatal hernia problem. I get lots of burps and frequent heart burns due to it. I sometimes feel pain and heaviness on left side of my chest. I am a bit worried about it. I cannot sustain too much mental stress. Kindly help.

Your gastric problems are very likely related to the mental stress you've mentioned. Visit a good Psychiatrist and learn ways to control your stress. Make sure you have your meals on fixed times, and have 5-6 small meals instead of the conventional 3 large meals. This will set your digestive system into a regular rhythm. Lastly, make sure you are sleeping well and include some exercise in your daily routine.

Lifestyle modifications- avoid going bed immediately after meal, raise head side of the pain, when pain is there sip some water. Medication- Anti reflux therapy.
