Doctor she is about 80 years old she remembers each and everything but she doesn't remember that she is in her house the only thing she is saying again and again that please take me back to my home and she issuing abuse language again and again even while sleeping she abuse to me my mom dad and my wife she is over weight so we can't even pick her up from bed she is taking sleeping pills of 2.5 mg but she doesn't sleep more than 4 hour can you please advise what to do or any medicine which can at least make her mind cool.

Dear lybrate-user, what your mother experiencing is the condition called dementia, which has symptoms memory lose, dis inhibition, silly behaviours, change in ways of normal behaviour, paranoia etc. It is a progressive illness and there is every probability for the symptoms to get worse. People with dementia develop behavioural and psychological symptoms including restlessness, aggression, delusions, hallucinations, apathy and sleep disturbances. I suggest you to take to a neuro rehabilitation center or an eminent psychiatrist who could provide you with medicines. Anti psychotics, anticonvulsants drugs are used for them which are found to be effective. Your mother needs to be cared with utmost patience and medicines are only a part of it. A geriatric center should be the place where she needs to be consulted at.
