My daughter is 14 .5 year sold is having headache problem since Feb 2016. She is under medication through Psychiatrist for Anxiety and Depression. She is not able to go to school (Class -X) due to headache (As she tells). And having lot of anxiety about her Grade and attendance etc. EEG and MRI are showing the normality . Psychiatrist is telling it is case of Psychosomatic Disorder . Please let me know such type of case how much time it take to recover. During other activities she looks to be absolutely normal.

Psychosomatic disorder means there is no defect in physically. It is everything related to psychological. For that reason medicine will not work properly to her. For psychosomatic disorders psychotherapy or psychological counselling helps to her very much. Better to stop the medicine. Consult psychologist. He understands total situation. Suggest some of the behavioural modification. Based on his recommendation please change her lifestyle modification. It is very difficult. But it works properly. It is permanent method. It has no side effects. Physically there is no problems. If anything is wrong the diagnosis reveal t. At. You already go for medicine. The doctor himself described that it is psychosomatic. Then why do you late. Better to consult a qualified psychologist. Better to follow his recommendations. Better to share her thoughts. Ask what are the problems in school. Better to take further steps to remove her problems. Treat her as a friend ask each and every problem. Better to friendly with her. Do not allow her loneliness. Share all the feelings. Be happy with her and be friendly. Ok all the best.
