Hello, a person with diabetes should follow these guidelines with regard to diet: 1) avoid sweets, deep fried foods, pastries, other bakery items, junk foods, items made of maida, fructose corn syrup containing food products, highly processed food products, sweetened aerated drinks (colas) and high fat milk products. 2) consume more of green leafy vegetables, salads and permitted fruits (100 g a day). 3) use whole grain flour and whole grain food products. 4) total calories should be matching the need based on ideal body weight, extent of daily exercise and blood glucose levels. 5) avoid red meat, fish, eggs (white), dressed chicken are preferred. 6) refrain from alcohol and smoking thanks.
