I tested positive for pregnancy with home test kit. However upon blood test the hcg levels were very low only 13. Next day I bleed heavily with dark brown discharge. I thought it to be biochemical pregnancy which git aborted. I even had periods like cramps. However doctor got my beta hcg tested again after two days of bleeding and it has rose to level of 40. Scan is not possible with this level. A week later em still getting a positive result with home urine test. Are there any procedures or test which need to be done. Can I still be pregnant? If yes, is there any fate of such pregnancy with hormone levels of 40 at start of 5th week.

For usg after 7 wks from last pd. Your preg, but live or. Not depend upon usg if live no problem you can continue.

Dear Ms. Lybrate-user the best way to check is repeat your bhcg levels, if it is falling then great. But if not then you will have to repeat the same, very rarely it may be a normal pregnancy but ectopic or a pregnancy of unknown location has to be ruled out and whether wait for spontaneous resolution or medical management is needed will depend all on values and symptoms. Apart from this you need no tests needed at present. Please do not stress youself with the home pregnancy kit daily, it will increase your stress and nothing else. Follow it with bhcg as they are the most reliable.
