I'm 22 years old male and I'm smoking 6-7 cigarettes daily! My recent Hemoglobin level is 17.6 gm/dl. I'm little worried about it. Is it Normal or not? If not, then how to decrease the Haemoglobin level?

Thank you for the query. You need to cut down or better quit smoking. Smoking produces a state of transient oxygen deficiency (hypoxaemia). As a result, the physiological system of the body tends to produce more red blood cell (which carry oxygen through hemoglobin). Your raised hemoglobin might be response to your smoking. Please get a complete blood count done to check the other blood parameters. Any other abnormalities in the blood profile need to be dealt with as required. Regards.

Your hemoglobin level is okay but your smoking is not okay at all. You seem to be on a reactive mode i.e. you will only want to deal with it after some medical problem presents itself. Sometimes, that might be too late: some problems will be permanent e.g. BP. So my advice is to quit immediately.
