Sir, I am 25 years old guy. My mother is a diabetic patient. Is there any chance of diabetes in me? As I have some time little blueness in my vision and my heart beat is also somewhat high (85-95). What can be cause of it and please suggest me how to overcome it. How can I maintain my fitness?

Dear lybrateuser, -there is always a chance to get the disease if the parent has it but it can be avoided if you lead a healthy life including proper diet & exercise -have a diet rich in fruits (avoid banana, chickoo, mango, as they are high in sugars) & vegetables, more of green leafy ones -avoid fried, processed & junk food, use cooking oil sparingly about 1 teaspoonful per day, also restrict full fat dairy products, red meat -do regular exercise for 30-40 min like walking, jogging, cycling, swimming, play outdoor games, also include moderate weight lifting in your exercise regimen as muscles help burn sugar faster & keep blood sugar under control -to reduce stress do yoga & meditation for 5-10 min daily -keep a check on your weight, bp, blood sugar, cholesterol at least once in two years to prevent the disorder in future -get your vision checked as diabetes affects vision if sugar is high.
