Pain can be due to caries or gum issues. If its caries you need to undergo a root canal procedure followed by cap on it. This procedure may require 5-7 visits to a dentist depending on the severity of the infection and caries. It may also involve intake of medication like antibiotics and painkiller during the treatment if gum issues are there you need to get scaling and polishing done from a dentist. Also incorporate use of dental floss in your daily oral hygiene procedure. See a dentist at your earliest.
