Sir I am 24 year old. My weight is oscillating between 55 to 48. The problem with me is that , I had started taking protein a year ago that time I was 45 kg. I gained upto 52, But after a month I had problems of diarrhoea, so I had to stop it. Now when I take normal food also I have diarrhoea type symptoms , My stool is semisolid type (always ) and sometimes it become worst , (i have watery stool) So from last 6 months my condition is repeating , I gain weight when I feel better and after sometimes when I got watery stool condition worst and I loose weight upto 47 . What should I do . I am feeling irritating and frustrating from last 1 year.

Hi Lybrate user, Sometimes it happen due to excess amount of protein powder you have to suffer from diarrhoea. First of all to stop loose motions take sufficient amount of curd / butter milk (chhachh) & banana. When it is stopped take small & frequent meal either you are hungry or not. To increase weight you should increase your appetite so you should take small & frequent meal. It will increase your appetite slowly. To gain weight you must consume simple foods, which has enormous amount of calories & protein. Consuming lot of calories doesn?t mean that you have to over eat or over stuff yourself. You must always choose healthy sources of calorie dense foods. Eat foods with high amount of calories than your required metabolism. Never skip your meals and make sure you are including all varieties of foods like fruits, vegetables, cereals and foods with high protein in your diet. Dairy products like milk, yoghurt and cheese are rich in protein and calcium. If you are non-vegetarian then include Egg & meat Egg is a protein rich food with high amount of calories. Nuts are the most nutritious and protein rich food. Fruits are the best sources of carbohydrates, healthy sugars, vitamins and minerals. I hope it will help you. Do not take protein powder 3 or 4 times if you want to take protein powder start with once in a day for few days after that you can take twice.
