My mother is 46 years old, she has come to know that she is suffering from thyroid. please give me suggestion what to eat and what not to eat and other tips.

Mr. Lybrate-user, by saying" she is suffering from thyroid" are referring to hypothyroidism? because thyroid is a normal gland present is all of us, which produces hormone thyroxine. So please clarify that. If she has hypothyroidism, then she has to avoid soy beans, soy containing products, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, radish, peanuts, mustard and coffee. She should use whole grain flour for roti and chapati, avoid maida and products made of that. Should consume more of green leafy vegetables, salads and fruits. Should exercise daily for 1 hour and take a restricted diet. Thanks.
