My Hba1c is 8. What to do. If take 5 mg gilpezide or gilmepride 1 mg before breakfast it drops to 70 or 50.

Your hba1c shows poor glycemic control. Consult your diabetologist, and tell him/ her of your sugar levels falling on taking the medicine. They will either change the drug itself or alter the dosage. That should help you. Also try and maintain good dietary control.
