My maternal grandmother has average length of hair so my mom is having. Is it necessary that I too will have the same length of hair. I mean will heredity follow in the case of hair also?

In most cases, yes. But it can also be like, your father's mother has long hair and you may also get long hair. One cannot know about genetics so easily. If your hair do not grow long, that would mean that, like your mom and her mom, your hair also do not gain length,
