A low carb & high fibre diet really works for diabetic patient. Diet plays a major role (70-80%) to control your sugar level. Also meal time is also important for diabetic patient. Uncontrolled diabetes may lead to heart failure, kidney disease. Use low gi food in your diet like- whole grain, multigrain flour, salad, fruits with skin, sprouts, oats, daliya etc. Avoid highgi foods- rice, refind flour, bread, poha, mango, grapes, banana etc. Follow 6 small meal patterns instead of 3 major meal.
Diabetes control is governed by following the right diabetic diet. What to eat and what not to eat is important for diabetes control and diabetes cure or diabetes reversal" a diabetes diet should be high on fibre, must contain milk without cream, buttermilk, fresh seasonal fruits, green vegetables, etc. But remember to consume these components in moderation.
All vegetables are a good source of nutrients. You can eat plenty of vegetables as they are low in calories. Avoid fruits which are very sweet in taste (also fruit juices). Your total calories depends on your work and activity level. Having unpolished pulses and multigrains is a better option. Avoid refined foods in your daily diet. Drink enough water to maintain hydration. In order to revive health only eating right is not enough, you should exercise daily if possible. Keeping stress away is equally important. Taking your medicines on time and checking your blood sugar levels regularly is the right approach.
