Hello doctors, I was diagnosed with 2nd degree fatty liver 1 month back, but had ignored it. I consume alcohol 2-3 times a week, while eating junk food is less frequent. Of late, I am experiencing a persistent and slight pain on left side upper abdomen and lack of appetite. Pressing the area, there seems to a slight inflammation as well. This happened some months back as well and I was advised by doc on some liver medicines due to enlargement of liver. This apparently feels like a repetition itself. Could you please advise if there is any preventive medicine or any medicine which protects liver. My profession involves going to a lot of parties and its difficult to keep away from alcohol. Kindly advise.

Stop alcohol. No one can force you to take alcohol except you. Send the medications list that you took. Normally liver problems cause pain in right side of abdomen not left.
