I'm aged 53 I want to know the reason for enlargement of prostate. My prostate 's size is detected 35.9 cc. What may be reason of enlargement and what medicine should take for treatment.

It is natural for the prostate to enlarge with age as a result of male hormones like testosterone and dht acting on it. Treatment for enlarged prostate is needed only when you have symptoms. Urologist is the appropriate doctor to consult. Once some basic investigations are done an alpha blocker is likely to be advised.
