You can try yoga, and do some breathing exercises. For diet take lots of fruits and vegetables. I am not sure if you are a vegan. If not you can take chicken, fish, egg. But avoid red meat. And avoid fast food. There is no special diet for swimming. You just need to take a healthy balanced diet. And you being a good biology student, I am sure, you know what I mean by that.
