My son 28 year old experiencing pain in the left knee. Mri reports indicate lateral subluxatingpalettae, doctor advised for surgery, whether surgery is required?

If patella is subluxating, and that's the reason behind pain, then evaluation is necessary. Why is it subluxating? is it bony reason, or soft tissue problem. Surgery may be needed eventually after everything is properly evaluated.
