Hi my baby was diagnosed with gastroesophageal reflux with suspected uti. And was put on antibiotics till date. She was 2 months old at diag. Now she is normal. Should we need to continue the med. Dose 1.5ml septron.

The infants are prone to develop recurrent uti and also infection of kidney. This is the reason they need to be put on prophylactic (low dose antibiotic) for long duration. The ultrosonography should also be done to see any damage to the kidney in babies below 2 years of age if there is history of uti. I would like to know whether usg has been done or not. Regards.
