This helps to release energy slowly and provide good stamina during the workout. e.g. an apple 30 minutes before workout is a good choice or 1 banana with 1 serving of oats and semi skimmed milk 2 hours before the workout is an ideal choice. The type of food and quantity depends on what time of the day you workout. If you work out in the evening, keep a gap of 3 hours after your main meal or lunch. After a meal, blood circulation is towards the tummy to digest the food so if you exercise immediately, you may experience stomach cramps and the digestion of the food will be affected.
