The percent of vision affected depends on the cause or intensity of injury that caused the cataract, and also how long back the injury occurred. The eye surgeon who is going to do the surgery can give you a clear estimation of the possibility of percentage of visual recovery. The procedure will be to clear the cataract by phacoemulsification or laser emulsification, or total removal of cataract and implanting an intraocular lens (iol). Do not unduly worry about the outcome, best method is to get the surgery done and hope for the best possible results.
