Mr. Lybrate-user, there are many reasons for early hair fall. But if you have hypothyroidism then that can be one of the main causes for hair fall. Since you are on treatment for hypothyroidism, so please see that a good control is achieved with tsh levels down to 3 - 4 milli units/l. If that is not achieved, then symptoms of hypothyroidism including hair fall will not go away. In fact hair fall is the last thing to get corrected. Plus you are also over weight with a bmi of 26.98 kgs/m2. Even efforts to reduce weight also are not successful when tsh levels are high. So please take care. Thanks for the question.
