Mostly chest pain is not originating from the heart. It is mostly due to acidity and may get exacerbated during or after meals. It may be due to cough or chest infection. If there is infection, there is fever present. Chest pain originating from the heart also called angina is felt if there is heart attack. It is felt in the midline of the chest or on the left side and may get directed or radiated to the left arm. The person experiencing heart attack is anxious and sweats a lot, may sometimes feel like vomiting. If you are in doubt, do an urgent ecg to rule out heart attack.
