I have diabetics for the first time recently and my doctor advised me glimp-m1 medicine. recently I seen an advertisement that one medicine ime-9 approved by govt. Is suitable for the same. It is 3 months course and do not take medicine after the course. Pls advise this medicine is suitable for me and my wife who is taking diabetics medicine for the last 2 years. Pls help. Thanks.

Mr. Lybrate-user, diabetes mellitus, is a disease occurring due to either lack of insulin or resistance to its action or both. Plus over weight, inactivity and junk foods. This disease can only be controlled by taking regular medicine as prescribed by the doctor, plus dietary control and regular exercise for about an hour, so that normal weight is maintained. As regards the drug mentioned, is an ayurvedic (herbal) combination. Supposed to be helping in controlling diabetes. If you want you may take it. But do not stop your current treatment, otherwise blood sugar control will become haywire. I do not recommend it as a primary treatment of diabetes. World over there is no treatment that can cure diabetes. Thanks for the question.
