Early Morning: Green tea ( sugar less) Breakfast: non fried preparations/ whole wheat bread/ vegetable poha, upma, etc. / idli sambhar etc. Mid-Morning: Fruits ( avoid the carbohydrate rich fruits like grapes, banana, custard apple and watermelon) Lunch: 2 dry chapatti + sabji 1 katori + dal or skimmed curd ? 1 katori + salad 1 katori Evening Snacks: Tea / Coffee sugarless + high fiber bis. Mr. Lybrate-user, you have to first take appropriate treatment with anti- diabetes drugs, plus restricted diet and regular exercise. As regards giving an exact diet plan, it has to be very individualised. So I need to know sugar levels, hba1c%, present dietary habits and extent of daily exercise being done. Unless those details are there, I may not be able to give any plan. Still a few things you should are: avoid sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods, pastries, white bread, other bakery item, sweetened aerated drinks, high fat milk products, fructose corn syrup containing products and highly processed foods.
