My doctor has prescribed me lonazep 0.5 mg for night so I can fall asleep. And paxidep cr 25 to take in day for my stress and anxiety. But neither do I feel sleepy effect of lonazep nor do I feel the mood altering effect of paxidep. Previously I was put on nexito forte for 20 days that didn’t help either. Does this mean I need a higher dose? I’m not feeling any of the benefits that these medicines give and it’s nearly been a month now.

Usually these medications take 2-8 weeks to exert their action. Since you say after trying for 2-3 weeks there is no improvement, you need to consult your psychiatrist again and try different group of medicine, as both nextio and paxidep belong to ssris. Also you can combine cbt with your medications for better results. Good luck.

I can understand what you are going through. Please consult a psychologist in your town who may take some psychological tests to analyze your issues. There is not only medication but other treatments like, relaxation, prayer, cognitive behaviour therapy and mindfulness. These are treeatments to instill positive frame of mind and hope. By positive frame of mind I mean the brain chemicals will secrete while our thoughts turn into positive. Prayer, deep breathing etc are for relaxation only.
