Dear sir, my father is a ckd patient. His last creatinine level was 4.5. He once undergone paracentesis 3 months back. Again doctor recommending him to go for paracentesis. My question is whether paracentesis is to be done on regular basis. Is there any side effects? How many times this process can be performed.?

Haemodialysis is done 3 times a week. The a v fistula created for this may get blocked and need to be done again. Peritoneal dialysis is another way to do it but frequency to do it is dependent upon creatinine levels.
