Hi hope you well my tsh level is 16 and I taking eltroxin 200 but my weight want by 1 kg why.

Hello, thanks for the query. I have seen the details mentioned. Your tsh level is definitely quite high, suggesting present dosage of levothyroxine (200 mcg) is not enough. It would have been better if you had mentioned t3 & t4 levels also. Because it is essential to the t4 level before any decision is taken on dosage suggestion. There is a need to increase the dosage by at least 12.5 to 25 mg per day. It is also necessary to give details about your weight & height. Ideally tsh should be maintained around 3 to 4 mu/l and t4 in the normal range, to control hypothyroidism. If you have any questions please do come back. Thanks..
