Sir, I do not know what to do? I am facing depression for about 1.5 years but I have not told my parents yet. I am unable to handle the situations and the things going in my home. I take too much of tension because of which my head starts aching. During my boards (12th) exams I got in habit of taking pills. I used to consume 6-7 tablets of disprin daily but now I have controlled it. Sometimes I feel like committing suicide. I am unable to express my feelings. I just do not know what to do? Please help me.

Dear lybrate user, you need to talk to someone who you trust. Or please talk to a counsellor. About the situation at home and about hiding your depression from your parents, I understand that you have your own valid reasons for doing this. But in the interest of you and all at home, it will be very helpful if you can talk to your parents about your own emotional state and other family problems. Taking too many pills and self medication is quite harmful. It will damage your lever. You feel like committing suicide because you think there is no way out from your problems. But there are always many options available, we need to understand these options. You are very young hence at your age probably you are not aware of multiple choices that can be made in any given situation. If you are not able to express your feelings to anyone, please consult a counsellor, who will help you in expressing your feelings and finding various options to come out of your difficult situations.
