Dear Mr. Lybrate-user, you should not be feeding your son while he is going to sleep. Rather he should brush his teeth with a supersoft tooth brush before he goes to sleep. He is supposed not to take milk after brushing.

Darkning of front tooth suggests that tooth became nonvital and it may be due to any trauma. Because in this age trumatic injury to mouth are very common.

This may be due to iron intake or early caries.

Given your son's age he could b affected by nursing bottle caries which affects front teeth specifically. It happens wen the child feeds on milk for extended duration while sleeping as the child holds milk in mouth during sleep n forgets to swallow leading to decaying of teeth. Happens also wen mother fails to clean teeth after feeding. It is advised to wipe the teeth with moist cloth after each feeding. Treating 1 years old with fillings is difficult n I suggest you to consult a pedodontist for more information.
