Hello doctor! I am a 31 years old pregnant woman. I am 6 months pregnant. I am very curious to know things related to pregnancies. I was also reading about probable complications while giving birth and also what can happen to my newborn. I got to know about polydactyly. Please doctor help me in knowing what it is and is polydactyly a problem?

No, polydactyly is usually not a serious thing. It is a condition where a baby is born with extra fingers or toes. This is often genetic and runs in families. The extra fingers or toes are small in size and are abnormally developed. There are no such treatments required generally because it does not have any medical complications. However, surgery can be performed for its removal for cosmetic reasons.
