My mother of 78 years age has knee pain. After x ray, doctor advised that she has wear out of the knee joint, and may require knee replacement. She is currently very reluctant to undergo surgery. Any other options?

Take you mother to a physiotherapist who will help her out for her pain relief and give her exercises for her knees. Try out physiotherapy 1st. Lots of patients do get better with exercises.
