The symptoms of jaundice are: - fever - vomitting - tiredness - loss of appetite - abdominal pain - yellowish discolouration of the conjunctiva, tongue, nail beds, skin and urine. - whitish stools. - body itching - enlargement of the liver and spleen follow these precautions: - maintain personnel hygiene like washing hands thoroughly with soap before eating and after attending to the nature calls. - avoid eating roadside food which are unhygienic. - wash vegetables before cooking and wash the fruits before consuming. - drink only purified water. - keep the eatables covered to avoid flies sitting on them and contaminating it. Please follow these in your diet: - avoid spicy, oily food and sweets. - consume soft and easily digestable food. - drink plenty of fluids like tender coconut, water, fresh fruit juices, barley water, etc. - eat plenty of fruits like apple, chikoo, small bananas, musambi, dry grapes, musk melon, water melon, etc. Jaundice may occur again if proper personnel care is not take like eating and drinking unhygienic food and drinks. It is not contageous disease. Take tab. Arogyavardhini 1-1-1 after food and tab. Liv. 52 ds 1-0-1 and kumari asava 2 tsf 3 times a day with equal quantity of water. Take all these medicines for about a month and repeat the blood and urine examinations to assess the bilirubin levels.
