My daughter has uneven teeth. Her age is exact 9 years old. Pls tell me what to do. She has protruding incisors and uneven canine. ON OPG Xray 8 teeth have not erupted yet. Being advised by some dentist to put steel plate for aligning the teeth while others have told me to wait it will auto correct as she grows. Am confused what to do.

You shiuld wait till she turns 12 years and than show. To a dentist ths age is called ugly duckling stage and mostly kids go through this stage.

Do not worry lybrate-user, your daughters age is of mixed dentition age in which some milk teeth and some permanent teeth are present in mouth. You have to wait for 3-4 years till all permanent teeth will erupt.

Wait up to the age of 12 years, incisors will alingn by themselves, later on fixed therapy if required can be done after 18 years of age. Uptil then no treatment is required.

Wait till your daughter turns 12 years by when all her permanent teeth would have irrupted and her jaw bones would have grown to accomodate all her teeth.

Your daughter is now 9 years, so please wait till secondary growth is completed. Malalainment of teeth can be done anytime after that, you need not worry at all now.
